Cookie Policy

Last updated: December 23, 2025

1. Overview

This Cookie Policy explains how HTTPVerbs uses cookies and similar browser storage technologies on httpverbs.io. We aim to be transparent about what data is stored in your browser and why.

We keep our use of cookies minimal - only what's necessary for authentication to work properly.

2. Cookies We Use

We use cookies only for authentication. These are set by our authentication provider (Supabase) and are essential for you to sign in and stay logged in.

Cookie NamePurposeDuration
sb-*-auth-tokenAuthentication session - keeps you logged inSession / 1 week

These cookies are strictly necessary. Without them, you would need to sign in on every page visit. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

3. Browser Storage (localStorage)

In addition to cookies, we use your browser's localStorage to remember your preferences and track your learning progress locally. This data stays on your device and is not sent to our servers unless you explicitly sync it.

  • Theme preference: Remembers if you prefer light or dark mode
  • Learning progress: Tracks which modules you've completed, quiz scores, and flashcard review history
  • Study preferences: Remembers your preferred study mode and UI settings

You can clear this data anytime through your browser settings. Clearing localStorage will reset your local preferences but won't affect your account or synced progress.

4. Analytics

We use PostHog for privacy-friendly analytics to understand how our platform is used and improve the learning experience. PostHog is configured to respect user privacy and does not use third-party cookies. Analytics data is aggregated and not sold to third parties.

5. Third-Party Services

When you use certain features, third-party services may set their own cookies:

  • Google: When signing in with Google OAuth
  • Razorpay / LemonSqueezy: When processing payments

These services have their own privacy policies. We only use them when you actively choose to sign in or make a purchase.

6. Managing Browser Data

You can control cookies and localStorage through your browser settings:

  • Cookies: Block or delete cookies in your browser privacy settings. Note that blocking our auth cookies will prevent you from signing in.
  • localStorage: Clear site data in your browser settings, or use your browser's developer tools to selectively remove items.

7. Updates

We may update this policy if we change how we use cookies or browser storage. Changes will be posted here with an updated date.
